WHO WE ARE

Chuck Dewild, MD, DMD
Chuck is our newest member to join our doctors' team at Maitland Family Dentistry. It took us a while to get him on board, because we had to find enough space to fit all those letters that follow his name. Chuck is a Board Certified Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon. To achieve this goal he attended four years of dental school and then an additional FOUR years specializing in oral and maxillofacial surgery. And if that wasn't enough, he continued on for TWO more years to complete medical school (yes, he is a glutton for punishment). So, if you're doing the math that's a total of TEN years of intensive studies following his graduation from college. As you can see he has taken his education very seriously. Surprisingly Chuck doesn't need a cane or walker to get around! Why would anyone do such a thing?? Well, it's because he loves what he does... oral surgery. And to be the best you can be at something you have to be dedicated and hard working. Altogether he attended fourteen years at the University of Florida to complete his education (it's rumored that after fourteen years at UF you actually begin to grow scales, but you'll have to ask Chuck yourself).
At Maitland Family Dentistry we are happy and proud to have Chuck on our team. The days of dental extractions with a dentist's knee on your chest are LONG gone. Chuck much prefers his knee on your stomach instead (that was just a joke... his feet stay on the ground at all times, I promise).
Chuck is a member of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons. Outside of the office he and his wife, Laurel, are the proud parents of their son and two daughters.
