You may ask yourself, what in the world is Microscope Dentistry? Well, as you already know, dentistry focuses mostly on one part of the human body... the mouth. And it's not always the easiest place to look at. More importantly sometimes we need to look for small parts of a single tooth for fractures, cavities, and all sorts of other tiny things. So along comes Microscope Dentistry. Today 100% of all US accredited Endodontic Specialty programs (that's where dentists specialize in doing root canals) train their residents using microscopes exclusively. That is why here at Maitland Family Dentistry we make sure that 100% of all Root Canals are done under microscopes, and we would not have it any other way. As stated countless times on this website, we are dedicated to providing the highest level of care we can.
Now that you have heard all this Mumbo-Jumbo, it's time for us to PROVE to you the power of our High Powered Dental Microscopes. For this we will use the five dollar bill test. Below, you will see several pictures of a regular US five dollar bill. The only exception is that the same five dollar bill was placed under our high powered dental microscope, and pictures were taken in increasing magnifications. Twenty-six states are listed on the back of every five dollar bill. You may not know this because they are written in extremely small and hard to read sizes. But with the power of magnification you can see how things that cannot be seen with the naked eye become very clear using magnification. This works exactly the same way with teeth. Things that we were never able to see before, like that nagging tooth that doesn't seem to stop hurting but hurts, or that cavity that is so small, the naked eye can't see it are now visible. All these things become more visible with high powered magnification. So that's the reason we feel dental microscopes are an important part of our top quality dental care for our patients.
