Unfortunately, toothaches don't always know it's the weekend or that you're going on vacation. For over 25 years we have been helping the people of Central Florida with emergency dental care. If you're having a toothache, here are a few things that you can do.
Contact us immediately to see how we can help. Although we may not be open, we ALWAYS check our voice messages, even on weekends.
What is causing my toothache?
Tooth pain can come from several sources, such as wisdom teeth, infection, gum disease, cavities, or it could also be a root canal pain (tooth nerve pain).
I can't tell where the pain is coming from.
It's not uncommon that you can't always pinpoint exactly where the pain is coming from, especially if the pain is throbbing and radiating.
What do I do for the pain until I can get in to see you?
Taking over the counter pain medicines like Tylenol, Advil, and Aleve is usually the best defense. Ice packs on and off every 20 minutes. Numbing gels like Oragel help but please DON'T put Aspirin tablets on the sore, that can burn your mouth and make things worst (it's an old wives' tale).
I'm scared of the dentist. I had a bad experience in the past.
We realize that toothaches aren't fun. We assure you we will do everything possible to make sure that you're comfortable. Call us so you can see the difference yourself.
I'm out of town and I have an emergency toothache.
